-Starting from roughly 2 hours into the transformation, and continuing until up to the sixth and (usually) final hour, the human teeth become loose and fall out, to be replaced by sharper, harder vampire teeth. Most people find this process incredibly alarming. Some vampires keep their human teeth in tiny velvet bags, to remind them that they were once fragile and mortal.
-Similarly, the finger and toenails also fall out and are replaced with thick, hard nails, with a purplish hue. The purple tinge comes from iron in the body being put into the nails, which acts as an important waste-disposal mechanism, and also makes the nails stronger. Since vampires feed on mostly blood, they have high levels of iron in their bodies. The iron goes to the nails so the body doesn't have to break it down.
-The colour of the iris also changes. Like with a monarch butterfly, the bright coloured eyes serve as a warning to other organisms that the vampire is poisonous. Depending on the vampire, the colour can be anywhere from the rainbow spectrum, or some even retain their original human eye colour, though that it rare. The most common eye colours in vampires are deep magenta, green, blue, yellow, and indigo.
-A thin membrane forms over the eyes, giving the pupils a clouded, cataract-like appearance. In actuality, these membranes are similar to two-way mirrors, and can be seen through perfectly by vampires. These membranes not only facilitate vision in the dark, but they also reveal the true nature of magical or cursed beings or objects. Unfortunately, the membrane is incredibly photo-sensitive, and most vampires opt to wear either sunglasses or contact lenses with dark-tinted "pupils" not only for protection from light, but also to blend in with humans.
-The heart beats faintly, as if it didn't beat at all. It moves around the blood but the muscles and brain become less dependant on oxygen to function.
-Four small glands form underneath the tongue, two on each side of the connecting membrane. Two of these glands produce the vampire's venom, and the other two produce a neurotoxin to paralyse their prey. The neurotoxin glands only produce when the vampire is about to feed. This is considered to be the most painful part of the entire vampiric transformation, and humans in transformation usually have to be held down and/or silenced when this happens.
-When cut, the wound automatically cauterizes itself, so there is no bleeding. Wounded tissue heals rapidly due to mutated cell mitosis, and eaves no scarring or marks. This drains energy and vampires often must feed soon after arge regenerations. If a human is wounded prior to being bitten, the wound will heal, but there will be a scar.
-Due to the nature of the vampiric curse, the UVA/UVB/UVC rays in sunlight weakens and then burns the flesh of vampires. They often have a 10-to-20-second window to walk through sunlight before the sunlit flesh bursts into flame. Vampires have recently created treatments for the windows of their homes and cars that block out the harmful rays, making the filtered sunlight benign.

Yeah, I was honestly thinking about the Discovery channel when I was reading it, THAT's how much sense it made.
I could almost imagine Steve Irwin now, 'croikey look at this un! What a beaut! Now if I just open it's mouth like this you'll see the venom glands...' XD
