Brianna and Avery had grown bored of watching Vaughan sit in his metallic cell, so Avery brought down a glass chess set, clear glass was black, frosted glass was white. Naturally, Brianna won white. She smiled and they set up the board in less than two seconds. Any human watching them play chess would have gawked, their moves were a blur with the glass pieces clicking faintly, and games were over in about a minute. They were equal opponents, usually it came down to the wire, but mostly Avery won. He smiled smugly at Brianna and she stuck her tongue out at him, then smiled.
"No matter how much I try, you always best me." She said, defeated after about 100 games. Avery leaned over the table and kissed her on the tip of her nose.
" hat is because I am the best." He winked. She smiled.
"You are, congratulations. I'm getting rather bored. What do you want to do now?" She asked. Avery thought for a moment.
"Well... We could have some fun with these things..." He motioned to the control panel for the metal room. "I've never tested out the lazers out on anything before." He grinned evilly, but Brianna frowned at him and he cleared his throat. "But of course that would be a bad thing..." He avoided Brianna's gaze. She got out of her chair and sat on his lap.
" ou know we can't go around just frying our prisoners. The real Vaughan is still in there. He's been supressed by Loretta. If we lazer him, Loretta could withdraw just to torture him... We'd be killing an innocent Vampire." She explained to him while stroking his arm softly.
"Well, when you put it that way, it makes me feel like an ass. Thank's Bri." Brianna laughed.
"You don't need me to make you feel like an ass, you already are one!" She joked. Avery tickled her sides and she leapt of his lap, giggling. Avery cracked a smile.
"Yeah, don't mess with me." He said with false bravado. Brianna giggled again and she hugged him tightly.
"Oh, you know I love you." She said, and she kissed the side of his pale neck. Avery held her close.
"I love you too, Bri." The two kissed passionately. Then Avery asked;
"When is it time to pawn this job off to Silias?" Brianna laughed.
"Around one or so. Not too long." She cuddled up to Avery.
"Good, I'm sick of it in here... Wanna play some chess?" Brianna sighed.
Vaughan was still sitting in the middle of the floor in the metal room.
Here is the plan, little Vampire...
The darkness was intoxicating. Gareth knew that if he didn't get out of his room soon, he would start to go crazy. He sat up on his bed and walked slowly to the door, holding his head with one hand. He had a massive migrane. When he stepped into the hallway, the mid-day light blinded him temporarily, and his migrane flared with pain.
"Unghhh." He walked down the hallway, and to the third floor stairs. He walked up them, his eyes half-closed, head throbbing. He emerged in a large burgundy room with most of the walls covered in bookshelves except for one, which was a gigantic window with a view of the front of the mansion. He walked across a plush persian rug to a large, overstuffed leather chair, and he looked out the window at the forest, thinking nothing, feeling the sun's filtered rays fall on him. He was still upset about Silias, and knew that he wouldn't forgive him for a while, but he figured that he had brooded about it for long enough. He looked at the shelves of books, but didn't feel like reading any of them, he just wanted to watch outside...
Silias and Alice were trekking into the forest. Silias had put his black skeleton shirt back on, and was carrying an umbrella. It was quiet, but a comfortable quiet, only the sounds of birds and crickets were heard between the trees.
"Silias..." Alice started to say.
"What do I miss most about being human?" Silias finished for her. Alice nodded. He looked into the distance, pondering. "The beach," he said finally. Alice nodded again.
"What about it do you miss so much?" She asked.
"I miss... Hot sand under my feet. And falling asleep in the sun. And the sound of the waves, the smell of sunscreen, getting ice cream cones..." He stopped walking, and he leaned against a tree with his head down. Alice rushed to his side.
"Silias! Are you okay? What's wrong? Silias?" She asked in horror. Tears were running down Silias' cheeks. "Oh Silias... I'm so sorry..." She embraced him and kissed his cheek. He held her with one arm.
"It's alright..." He said softly. "I just haven't gotten used to the idea of 'eternally damned' yet..." He sniffed and pulled Alice tighter.
"I'm so sorry..." Alice said, worriedly.
"Don't be, Alice... There's a beautiful beach near here... It's been too long. Let's go."
